This is a beautiful, but… I think it’s very tough to judge others and how they respond to adversity. Much better to offer a helping hand or shoulder to lean on. We are not equally equipped to deal with adversity, and none of us can really know or understand another person’s experience.

I used to be convinced of that as well. But, over the years, I also had experiences with people who didn’t just want a helping hand, but for you to do for them, indefinitely. And, on the other hand, I’ve dealt with people, who were very accomplished (and seemingly well adjusted) and you’d never expect that they ever had to deal with any kind of trauma (though they had dealt with a lot of it). I think that these people never get any kind of recognition and that it’s generally assumed that because they are doing well that they had it easy. So, it’s out of frustration over these ideas that led me to put up this post. (But, I’m still for compassion and a helping hand. :))
