Emotional Purification – A Meditation

Try this to get rid of emotional aches and pains:

  • lie down comfortably and imagine that you are lying in the middle of a stream
  • see the water flow around and through the center of your body
  • as it flows through you, see it taking away debris, little by little
  • do this for 10 minutes or more
  • you can add whatever other calming imagery you like (sunny meadows, tree tops swaying gently under a breeze, birds flying in the sky…), but always return to focus on the water flowing through you
  • add gentle music; maybe, something you know calms you or sounds of water flowing.

Another good place to do this meditation is in the shower.

Thanks:) I mostly reblog other people’s stuff, but it turns out that finding posts that fit the blog also takes work too…still, I’m amazed by the great information that people post.
And I love your art. Beautiful!:)

  4. This was such a timely post for me! I’ve just tried this because of a neck ache that I am sure is stress related and it has eased a lot. Have never thought of meditating in the shower but think I’ll try this too!

That’s so good to hear. 🙂 So, glad that the meditation helped you out….I find that the benefit of doing the meditation in the shower is that you don’t have to focus as hard on the idea of water flowing, because the shower does it for you…:)
